What is Your Eco Footprint ?

An eco footprint (sometimes known as a carbon footprint) is “the total set of GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions caused directly and indirectly by an
individual, organization, event or product” (UK Carbon Trust 2008).  Basically - how much does your day-to-day routine hurt the environment?

Calculate your eco footprint here: http://www.lowimpactliving.com/scores/calculate

Organicare's boxes are made from 80% post-consumer waste and the remaining 20% of the paperboard is made with trees from responsibly managed forests.  This means ... our boxes have a pretty small impact on the environment - not to mention our company is carbon neutral (we plant a new tree for every tree we cut down).

The average eco footprint in our office is 79.  What is yours?

The Eco-Chic Box

We've said it a million times ... our packaging not only chic,
it's ECO-chic!

We've gotten rave reviews about the goodies inside our boxes and now even the boxes themselves are being recognized!!  Industry leaders are reporting our packaging as some of the most inventive and environmentally-friendly on the market today.

Organicare teamed with Willoughby Design to create our gorgeous and earth-friendly packaging and the partnership was a great success!  "Willoughby designed the Organicare packaging to be sophisticated, fashionable and serious while, at the same time, staying true to the product’s unique earth-responsible mission," Packagings of the World's blogger Samantha commented.

Our packaging is produced in a facility that uses only renewable resources such as wind and hydro-power.  The paper used for our boxes is 80% post-consumer recycled material and remaining 20% is obtained from responsibly managed forests.  Organicare ensured that our facility vowed to be carbon neutral (for each tree consumed, another is planted) -- but we took it a step further.  Organicare plans to become carbon POSITIVE in 2009.

We'll keep you posted on more news of our ECO-CHIC boxes!
